Panther 1054
April 2008
Work has slowed since February due to the arrival and stripping down of sister Panther 1076, however work has not stopped completely with work on the interior being carried out including painting, cleaning and even affixing the first of the seat rails. It has been found that some of the rear saloon floor will have to be replaced, but this should not hold up proceedings too much. The bus's engine has been pressure washed so a thorough inspection can take place and it's oil leak can be remedied. 1054 now starts and moves under her "own power" once again now her minor electical gear problem has been fixed.
February 2008
The offside is now completely repanelled with most beading strips now in place. Paint stripping and cleaning inside has been started. Front and rear corner panels have been cut in preparation for rolling.
Up to and including January 2008
Restoration work slowed before winter but is now continuing apace. The nearside has been completely repanelled and beading strips are now in place. The offside repanel is nearing completion and all the beading strips have been paint stripped in preparation for being rivited on.
Mid August
Her seat frames are now in grey undercoat, as are her seatrails and the nearside repanel is virtually complete.
Early August
The restoration of 1054 has begun with the seat frames being rubbed down and painted in red oxide and having the old beading strips paint stripped. Its new panels have been primed in red oxide in readiness for cutting.
